CLA Grows Global!
In February 2001, The Community Leadership Association was contacted
to design and conduct a community leadership training program for
Thailand, something that has never been done before in that country.
Thailand’s adoption of a new, democratic constitution in 1999
created a shift of power from the central government to the communities.
According to CLA Executive Director Gene Honn, cae,“That change
in structure found many Thai communities unprepared to make the
decisions that were now theirs to make.”
In November 2001, CLA trained 21 academicians and businesspeople
from throughout Thailand in the most prominent community leadership
concepts, perspectives and practical skills employed in America.
