The Community Leadership Association offers a variety of avenues and vehicles for professional development. The Annual Leadership Conference brings together leadership development professionals, graduates and other civic-minded individuals from across the United States and beyond to exchange innovative ideas, viewpoints and resources to help strengthen and transform communities.
Keynote speakers, workshops and roundtable discussions feature 21st century leadership development skills, knowledge and insights. Conference participants have the opportunity to attend thought provoking and educational workshops and network with people interested in and committed to community leadership development.
In addition to the Annual Leadership Conference, The Community Leadership Association offers a full calendar of educational programming to encourage and facilitate the use of leadership skills and processes for personal and professional growth. Leadership development professionals, board members, graduates and others interested in community building will find our hands-on, experiential training sessions beneficial and innovative.
Past offerings include: New Directors; New Directions for those interested in redesigning a leadership program or starting up a new one; Leaders Creating Leaders: Essential Skills for the Leadership Professional for program directors ready to push themselves and their programs into the 21st century; CommunityTrusteeship: Taking Leadership to Heart for those wishing to integrate the concept of trusteeship into their program; Youth as Trustees for people wanting to initiate a leadership program for teens; and Facilitation for those interested in better leading a group through the processes of experiential learning, collaboration and consensus building.
